Get Involved

Host Team

This is the team of people at the doors - the front doors of the church, and the doors to the sanctuary.  These individuals greet everyone as they come in the front door, and engage newcomers in a short conversation to make them feel welcome, and to answer logistics questions.  The ushers at the doors of the sanctuary will guide people to seats if required, hand out the weekly bulletin, and collect the offering during the service.

Media Team

The media team are those technically-inclined people who run the sound and projection system.  You may know the ones - you don't notice them when everything runs well, but if something goes awry, they're front and centre.  This group manages the computer system, the sound systems and the projection systems that are vital to the smooth execution of the church services and other events.

Children's Ministries

This is one of the largest teams in the church.  This group of dedicated volunteers deliver TREKS, which occurs during the Sunday morning worship service.   TREKS engages three age groups of children, from age 3 to grade 6.  AWANA, which happens on Wednesday evening, ministers to 40 to 60 children every week, from ages 3 to grade 6.

Youth Ministries

This is also one of the larger volunteer teams in the church.  Under the direction of Pastor Kaleb, this group of dedicated volunteers work with pre-teens and teens to grow their faith and set them on a life course that will keep them on the path with God.  Volunteering in this area requires the same patience, understanding and love that dealing with your own teens demands.

Small Group Leadership

The small groups that provide so much Christian guidance to the adults in the church are led by a group of dedicated, commited Christians.  These individuals, sure in their commitment to Christ, provide the leadership and biblical knowledge to facilitate both the group meetings and the discussions.  That doesn't mean they're there to provide all the answers; no, they're there to guide the discussions.

Prayer Chain

The prayer chain is a group of believers who know that God is in control, and anything we need, we can bring to God.  If someone needs prayer for a specific issue, they can call the prayer chain number, and the situation will be phoned to the others in the prayer chain.  Then each person in the chain will pray for the situation and the person requesting it.  God answers prayer if we bring our needs to Him.

Community Care

This is a small group of volunteers who organize responses to church members or adherents who experience hardship.  Community Care will send a card, provide a meal (or several).

Local and Foreign Missions

As the church name implies, Redeemer Christian and Missionary Alliance is dedicated to bring the word of God to all peoples throughout the world, from locally in our own neighbourhood, to areas of the world that actively persecute Christian missionaries.

Worship Ministries

Worship Teams lead the congregation in singing praises to God on Sunday mornings.  Led by Valarie Campbell, a worship team meets on Thursday evening to rehearse the music that will be sung during the service, then leads the congregation on Sunday.  Worship teams typically consist of three singers, and several musicians including pianist, keyboardist, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, drummer, and bass player.

At Redeemer, we believe that everyone who worships with us has gifts that can contribute to church life.  This page describes ongoing ministries at Redeemer; you can find where your gifts align with the church ministries.

Baptism

Water baptism is the public, outward testimony that indicates a personal, inward faith. It gives evidence of the inner change that has occurred in the believer's life when he or she is "born again" through faith in Jesus Christ.

Baptism identifies the believer with the message of the gospel, the Person of Jesus Christ, and other believers. It associates the believer with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and signifies the believer's death to the old life and his or her resurrection as a new creation in Christ.

Membership

The qualifications for membership include a credible testimony of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ before members of the Board, believer's baptism, and a commitment to the principles of the Preamble; a commitment to the Purpose and Statement of Faith of The Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Canada.
